Advanced Watertek Exhibited at Offshore Jack Up Middle East and Presented Floating Desalination as a Game-Changer for Offshore Operations
CLIENTS CHALLENGE
A major EPC was looking for a solution to treat high salinity water feeds coming from bore wells in Kuwait. They wanted a mobile solution because they operate at various locations at the north Kuwaiti oil fields. In conclusion, the permeate water application was needed for:
-
wash water
-
demineralised water
-
potable water requirements complete mobile package
OUR SOLUTION
Advanced Watertek has provided the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the complete plant. First of all, we have used Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology. Furthermore, our solution is a plug and play containerised package plant. Hence, the plant is operated remotely and monitored through a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).
PROJECT RESULT
The system was installed and commissioned by Advanced Watertek engineers. The treated water quality met all of the client’s parameters.
We developed a 1st pass RO to deliver the wash water and potable water. In addition, we developed 2nd pass RO to deliver the demineralised water for process applications. The system has a design capacity of 8,000 bbl/day combined permeate flow. Finally, the demineralised water is stored in a nitrogen-blanketed tank provided by Advanced Watertek.
The system still is performing within the operating parameters set by the client, reducing operating and water purchasing costs and saving money.
