CLIENTS CHALLENGE
Our client, a global F&B company, was looking for a reliable water treatment system for their second production facility in Bahrain. They were not satisfied with the system at their current production facility and were, therefore, looking for a new supplier.
Reliability and quality were the most important selection criteria for the client. Producing food products for very competitive markets, they can’t afford an interruption in the production. For instance, a shortage of supply, even for a short time, will therefore immediately affected their markets share. Hence they sourced a system that would perform 100%, irrespective of the operating conditions. In addition, because of the size restrictions, they wanted the skid-mounted system to be assembled and customised at the site.
The feed water is chlorinated municipality water. The system will treat water for the following applications:
-
Production process
-
The process equipment
-
Cooling towers
OUR SOLUTION
The client needed two Reverse Osmosis (RO) brackish water units, both producing 2 x 1400 m³/day. Due to the presence of Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) in the raw water, we also needed to incorporate fouling resistance membranes in our design.
As per our policy, we only sourced and provided high-quality parts. Similarly, we also did test each component above the given design parameters on-site to ensure the reliability of the machines.
Furthermore, our team of operators, technicians and engineers spent 20 days at the site, to modify and complete the installation. As a result, we met all the requirements of the client.
SCOPE OF WORK

-
Expected Product Water TDS: <40ppm @ 25°C
-
Operating Hours/Day: 24/7
-
Mode of operation: Manual
-
Design TDS: 400 ppm
-
Power Supply: 380 – 415V, 3Phase, 50Hz
PROJECT RESULT
The system was installed and commissioned by Advanced Watertek engineers. The treated water quality met all of the client’s parameters.
We designed, manufactured and installed two Reverse Osmosis (RO) brackish water units, both producing 2 x 1400 m³/day. Due to the presence of Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) in the raw water, we also incorporated fouling resistance membranes in our design.
The system still is performing within the operating parameters set by the client, reducing operating and water purchasing costs and saving money.
